Hear me out, DP and DC crossover where Scarecrow is cousins with the Fentons.

His mother was siblings with Jack’s father, and both Jazz and Danny met ‘Uncle Jonathan’ during one of the many Fenton-Nightingale family reunions that happens every few years. Honestly, perhaps it’s what gets Jazz interested in psychology, hearing from her ‘uncle’ about fear and its effects.

And honestly once they start having to deal with ghosts and having had to deal with their parents for years it’s not really hard to talk with their uncle. Crane still doesn’t know how he became these kids’ favorite uncle, or even all of the family kids’ favorite uncle-cousin, but that’s just how the family is.

Really he’s not even the only villain of the family, with both Jack and Maddie being close but not quite, even if they’re definitely mad scientists. Their son becoming a local hero, even if they’re not aware of that fact, is just ironic.

John knows. The two kids told him when they found out that Danny may or may not need to feed on fear now that he’s half ghost, and well he’s the specialist about the emotion so…

At least they have someone to stay with when Jazz goes to Gotham university and brings Danny with her, even if the local vigilantes are concerned as to why Scarecrow attacks have suddenly took a nosedive…

It’s a reminder, I guess, that they’re coming for all of us. The fash and the white supremacists will not make nice distinctions between the queers when they put us up against the wall. There is no gatekeeping, no label-policing, no purity-purging and no assimilation that any of us can do that will save us. Where the larger rabbit once stood, there is a wolf, looming over the frightened small rabbit. The pink heart seems to be pounding. "I love you," says the wolf, emphasizing the last word. "That isn't part of you, not really."

Within its chest, its shining heart has begun to stitch itself back together.

The smaller rabbit turns to see the larger one, some distance away, still contained within a dark, colorless box. The larger rabbit continues, "You never want to talk anymore. And I'm always afraid you'll get angry with me if I use the wrong word for one of your...colors."

Close on the larger rabbit, who is weeping. "This isn't you," it says. The text of "this" is pink. "I shouldn't have to learn about it to love you. Can't you come back inside where it's safe? Can't you leave that thing out there? I miss you."

"I miss my kid," it says. But the words are overlaid on text in the wolf's color, which reads, "I miss who you pretended to be to please me."

Israeli settlers casually fleeing back to the US or Europe or wherever they want to go really thanks to passport privilege while Palestinians are literally trapped in a giant cage waiting for the Israeli military to bomb the shit out of them highlights another power asymmetry of the Palestinian occupation: the freedom of movement, or lack thereof. Palestinians are not free to move across their own land. Everything is controlled through the most elaborate and heavily militarized borders, security checkpoints, military blockades, minefields, etc. in the world. Even if those didn't exist you can bet a Palestinian wouldn't be able to just get on a plane and go wherever they please without so much as a visa (not to mention the likely thousands of Palestinians who have been put on no fly lists due to be pure racism). When conflict breaks out they simply have nowhere to go. An Israeli can hop on a jet and fuck off back to Long Island or wherever until it simmers down.
